Yes it is the problem... great problem with nice songs that it would be better with the powerfully old rythm style!!! —Skateboarding - "Gnarly Surf" |

Hell, I didn't even know Lionel Hampton played drums. Thought he was a vibe player. Thanks Alfredo! —Radio Free Bakersfield--60 Minutes of TWANG, CRUNCH, OOMPH. |

I got to see Lionel Hampton a couple times in Hi. with a really young band, he was old but played a couple drum solos that were fantastic. In the video, you can really see Krupas influence on Dusty, IMO. Rick |

i agree in principle with this .... the jazz influence in drumming has really waned. but bonham was really influenced by Krupa and if you listen closely i think you can see he doesn't have a robotic feel at all, but a more jazz influenced feel .... anyway, just my two cents. —Plus! By the way I really dig Ander's from the Longboards drumming. Jeff(bigtikidude) |

Ander..is a Krupa lover...in this moment.. The Eddie influnece inside turn the rythm of the band to more SWING MOTOR... the acoustic jazz bass and the 40,s energy influnece are so wild and fast... yesterday we was in the garaje asking arround Ander said: GENE KRUPA SURE!!!!I agree Yes Ander it,s trying to get the old jazz drum style..to do SURF MUSIC with total swing ..like a lead drum we hope will get this. —Skateboarding - "Gnarly Surf" |

Danny, I think that Dusty would agree that Buddy takes it hands down. —Jeff(bigtikidude) |

I think Krupa was the guest and is probably too much of a professional to try to outdo his host. Buddy's great, but there's something about Krupa in his prime that just gets my adrenalin flowing as much as any punk rock song. —Danny Snyder Playing keys and guitar with Combo Tezeta Formerly a guitarist in The TomorrowMen and Meshugga Beach Party Latest surf project - Now That's What I Call SURF |
