I have been looking for reverb units.
I have found the same price from most internet music stores.
My question is, has anyone had any experience ordering from lets say Musicians Friend or ?
Thanks
Joel.

I have, when they briefly dealt with Canada. I bought some M Audio stuff and it was A Okay. Shipped very fast as well.

I've ordered a handful of stuff from Musician's Friend and never had a problem. I've also been lucky (knock on wood) so far with anything I've purchased through ebay or craigslist.

I echo Bill's experience. I've bought from numerous places on the internet, never a problem. My only problem ever ordering was a mixer off ebay, and like a dummy I forgot to add $6 for insurance and sure enough it was damaged in transit.

i've ordered some from www.musiciansfriend.com
and www.juststrings.com also I have bought and sold mucho gear at www.ebay.com

no real issues, ever!

I've had positive experiences dealing with Musicians Friend & Just Strings. I'd be real careful buying on Ebay. While most people are honest, my luck has been For example, I bought an original 1964 Fender reverb tank. The pan springs had been broken. Rather than spend 75 cents to replace them, they had been replaced with the rubber bands people use for their hair. I'd be really hesitant to buy without being able to inspect the item when making an Ebay purchase.

Thanks guys. Very Happy
It seems that I can get a new reverb cheaper from the internet (including no tax or shipping fees) than I can from a walk in store. Even Guitar Center. Go figure.
So thanks to your replies, I'm ordering a Reverb today.
I've thought about waiting for the one that Gomez is bringing out, but he told me around Thanksgiving or maybe December, and I just don't want to wait that long. He also said $500-800 dollar range. That is hitting my upper limits for a stand alone Reverb unit. Eveb a good one which I'm sure his will be.
The Fender brand units seem to be going higher in price every week. and I dont want to wait for something that might or might not be avaiable soon to show up, just to find that the Fender unit is gone up even higher, so I'll take my chances now with a fender unit. While they are still only $500.00 and avaiable now.
Again Thanks for the replies. Smile
Joel

a late reply, but here it is, I'l buy the occasional pedal, set of strings or bunch of pics at a store cause I dont want them to go out of business, but about 80% of the equipment I own comes from either internet stores or ebay. when used with common sense it pefectly safe (i.e. respected well selling internet store that has a name to loose, yes, zerofeedback seller from china, rather not)

one note about getting a reverbunit online though: you can't check it out, and reverb trays are notorious for sounding different rom one unit to another, and the newer ones especially seem to suck. this is the story that goes around on guitar forums. I personally have experience with only one newe accutronics pan, and indeed, that one sucks. big time.

you'll have that problem with anything that you buy though, unless some boutique builder handpicks the pans. You just might need or want to get a different pan. (but then again, you might just as well get a great sounding unit, and f Id find a bad sounding reverbunit in a store for $300 Id buy it on the spot anyway, cause the pan is so easy to replace.) pans from the late nineties (which are okay in my experience) go for around 20 bucks on ebay. vintage hammond or gibbs tanks go for way over 100 bucks.

anyway, minor inconvenience rather then problem.

Thanks for the input. I have placed an order online as of this morning. I would have had to order it anyway, as there are no stores in the range of 50 miles that has a unit on hand new or used. I really wanted to have the gomez unit, but not so much as to wait until whenever they might be ready.
I have read that some people are satisfied with what is being produced by Fender, and some are not. Either way I have a Fender Reverb unit on the way to my door as I type this. Very Happy I'll deal with stuff as it arises, or not. But at least I will have a reverb unit to use. Very Happy
Thanks again
Joel
