Hey Joao,
Just wanted to let you know how much I'm enjoying your LA Sessions CD!!
Reminds me of the Atomic 7, Brian Connely's (formerly of Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet) group, really cool stuff! Stellar guitar work too!

Hopefully we can gig sometime together in DC or somewhere.

Cool! I'm glad you are enjoying!

Paul, how about a gig in November? We can try Velvet again or any other place. I just wanna play! Let me know what you think.
Cheers

Hi guys!
There's a cool review on the Vintage Guitar Magazine (may edition). I just uploaded a scanned version, if you wanna check it out:

I was meaning to buy this and now I went ahead and did it. I loved the samples I heard. FWIW: We're planning to do some recording at the same studio this summer.

Joao, congratulations! I just bought this issue a couple of days ago. Besides the excellent surf reviews (congratulations also to Ferenc, PJ and the Reverb Galaxy!), there's a FANTASTIC article about the Burns Marvin guitars (the Shadows signature sixties guitars by the British guitar company Burns, for those not initiated). A recommended issue for all these things!

I just watched some of your vids and checked out your myspace page. Great stuff, I love the drum part on South American Girl. very cool feeling song.

peaceandwaves,

If you are still standing on the beach when the sun goes down, it was a good day.

Honestly, it's one of the best albums I've heard in a long time. I bought it two days ago and I've had it on repeat..

Thanks guys!
Here's another "South American Girl" video. This one was recorded in Sao Paulo, last time I was in Brazil:

I have some gigs here in NYC. I'll post the info later on.

Great song, great performance and great video. Is that an inca silver jag? That's what I play too? Do you have the stock pickups in there?

Hey Danny!
It's a N.Zaganin Jaguar ( http://www.nzaganin.com.br/guitarra/?linha=11 ). Basically is a custom shop 62' Jag copy with some tweeks. I'm using a tune-o-matic on this one and Seymour Duncan "vintage" pickups (the regular ones, I guess). It was my first gig with that guitar and you can see me trying to grab the tremolo bar with no success...
Very Happy
I'm still working on it. I used the same guitar at the Guitar Geek Festival and it's my main axe here in NY too.
I believe the color is "Ice Blue Metallic". Maybe a variation of that...
