At home, I use a Champion 600 with the tank and sometimes a Vox Pathfinder 15 with a Watkins Copicat. For travel, I use the Danelectro Amp In Bag with a Danelectro Spring King or with the BLT Slap Echo.

That's interesting. I am evaluating a comparison between a Champ600 with a reverb tank (amp smaller than reverb... Smile ) or a Fender Vibrocham XD.....

Never surrender in finding a surfcaster

Usually a DRRI and occasionally a Vox Pathfinder 15R. For bass I use an Orange Crush 35B.

I wouldn't call them practice amps exactly, also nix the low-volume thing. Usually it's one of these:

'57 tweed twin RI
Twilighter (Magnatone) 260
Victoria 35115

For practicing and sound inspiration I use mainly a little Danelectro "Nifty Fifty " amp with the Dano Spring King. For me this is a nice handy "home-surfsound" package.

Sometimes I use an old Yamaha TA20 from 1968 with a strange 1x15 styrofoam speaker.

For practice, I play lead through a Gomez G-Reverb amp in 1x12 configuration. At the same time, I run pre-recorded rhythm tracks from a Line 6 BackTrack + Mic into a Victoria tweed Champ.

VibroChamp XD with a Spring King (until the tank arrives), and sometimes a smaller Korean amp with 8"speaker and lead/rhythm channels. It's solid state, but at least it has a built-in tank that crashes nicely when kicked.

Fender Blues Junior for me. It is the later model with the better reverb. Not a bad little amp, actually.

I have a Kustom Dart complete with white roll pleat exterior and a Vox DA-5. The Kustom sounds better clean than the Vox, but the Vox modeling can make some really obnoxious noises if your so inclined.

I agree. I use a blue tuck 'n' roll Dart myself when practicing alone....

I now have a Golden Ton Smart 20 and gave it a G12-65 Celestion speaker. The original was sweet, but too dull for Surf. The amp reportedly uses the Marshall 18 Watt circuit. I wonder what it sounds like with a Jensen P12R. Or my Naylor SD-50.

laptop and fender amplitube. the 63 reverb clone is fantastic!

Line 6 Spider Jam - the Fender model is pretty good; could use a bit more reverb. I sometimes will dial up a surf drum beat (like Hawaii Five-0) for some accompaniment.

Usually just practice unplugged, sometimes with a Roland Micro Cube.

Here's my Demon Twisted Evil . You can run it 100 watts/50 watts/Headphones, straight into a recording board,
power 2 4X12 Marshall Cabs, or use the Pyle Speakers with tweeters in the Amp itself. I just throw it
over to Headphones at night when I want to practice, plus I still get to hear what it will sound like on
stage since I use this monster for Live Applications as well Mr. Green

With a band in my reheasal space downstairs, I mainly use a SF Deluxe Reverb with a 1 x 15 Weber extension speaker.

If I'm playing to records or learning stuff on my own, I usually play through a Digitech GNX1 plugged into a mixer with a Cd player and a drum machine, which also connects to a little Fostex MR8 recorder. I've got a SF VibroChamp for when I don't want to wear headphones.

My amp is a Peavey Envoy 110. I run it through a Behringer Xeynx 1002 mixer and use headphones most of the time so I don't wake up the kiddies.

right here........ just a small version of the big boy I use at gigs. Mine has bitchin' tone (unlike many of them I've tried).

(Sixty-something) Vox AC-4, and either an Ibanez Echo-machine pedal or Rocktron Short-timer pedal...OR...'63 Guild 66-J with aforesaid pedals or a '62 Fender reverb tank.

The latter is pretty loud for the bedroom or living room, and lives mostly in the basement!

The Vox and a pedal are perfect for the front porch...

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most...

I either use a 1979 Peavey Decade that I got for my birthday that year or my Tech 21 Trademark 60 (usually with headphones). The Tech 21 rocks!

"Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid" - SGT Stryker

I bought a Roland Micro Cube with built in effects. It works pretty good and is small and light enough to pack in a suitcase for traveling.

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?
