i got this album from an ex girlfriend a couple of years ago as a christmas gift. can anybody give me info?

the tracks are-
1-Surfin' Dance-The Surf Boys
2-Latin Soul-The Original Surfaris
3-The Fairest Of Them All-Dick Dale
4-Big Board-The Surf Kings
5-Night Surf Party-The Surf Kings
6-Surfin'-The Surf Boys
7-Delano Soul Beat-The Original Surfaris
8-We'll Never Hear The End Of It-Dick Dale
9-Surf Water-The Surf Kings
10-White Cap-The Surf Kings
11-Blue Surf-The Original Surfaris
12-Surfing King-The Surf Kings
13-Chiflado Surf-The Surf Boys
14-Secret Surfin' Spot-Dick Dale
15-Calient-The Surf Kings
16-Surfin' Theme-The Surf Boys
17-Surf Dreams-The Surf Boys
18-Swingin' & A-Surfin'-Dick Dale
19-Latin Surf Party-The Original Surfaris
20-No Return-The Original Surfaris

the title of the cd tray is "surfing 1433", but im sure the numbers are just from the record company and have nothing to do with the actual album's name. I've also seen the same exact record cover except it read "the beach boys' and i think 'original surfaris' instead of surf boys and surfaris...

i have never heard of the Surf Boys or Surf Kings until i heard this album, and i cant find much info on them, and i want to know more...

and can anybody shed some light on where these Original Surfaris tunes besides Delano Soul Beat are coming from? because the rest of them aren't on either of their two albums...

and are those two first Dick Dale songs from his pre-surf days back in the late 50's?

The Surf Boys (the two songs above) are actually the New Dimensions. Don't know anything about the Surf Kings but I would guess they were a studio group.

I believe "Latin Soul" was a compilation only release. Never heard of the last two on your tracklist.

I believe that a band member of The Surf Kings band, is a member here.

Check out their sounds here.

Joel,
wrong surf kings.
Tom the guitar player of the Surf Kings (current) link you provided.
was a member of the Crossfires in the 60's,
he left the band to go to Vietnam, and they replaced him,
then they became the Turtles.

So I think the 60's surf kings was not related.

One of my favorite bands as well. "Surfin' Dance" is actually "Vesuvius" from their Surf 'n Bongos album and "Surfin'" is actually "Tor-Chula" which wasn't released elsewhere I think.

Mabye John Blair knows something more about this release. I recall it being discussed on one of the Yahoo Groups. Basically someone wanted to cash in on Dick Dale, and got a hold of his really early pre-surf stuff and then filled out the rest of the album with studio groups and mislabeled New Dimensions material (possibly to avoid paying them...?).
