Cancel that. Mr. Dale has informed the Coach House that he does not allow "surf bands" open for him. The Eliminators will not be opening for DD. |

I always get a kick out of watching him still tearing it up at his age, he is quite the showman. It's a real shame that he's distancing himself from his progeny though... I guess surf has to be a little more popular before he's the "king" again. — |

You are absolutely correct. However, for whatever reason, he no longer permits surf bands to play on the same bill. In this case The Eliminators were asked by the club to open for DD. Some weeks later when DD found about it, the club said DD himself called and called and said no surf band. Whether it was actually DD or one of his representative, I do not know. I simply quoting what the club told me. If I recall correctly, last year The Madeira were a victim of the same policy. In my mind, it seems having Madeira play in front of you working the crowd into a frenzy for you is a good thing. But what do I know. I'm just some dude from Surf City. My two cents. |
