Rats! I have it already. Everybody support Record Store Day at Double Crown and all of your local independent record stores. The exclusives this year were amazing. I spent $80 at my local shop and I left a lot of stuff on the shelf.
It was a damn fine day!

Of the two local stores I've been to one really didn't know what they were doing and just gave me some promo rap cd, another one was really cool and had a lot of the exclusives and let you run away with a free cd from one of the bins up front if you get an exclusive. I reluctantly passed up Cosmopolis for Messer for Frau Muller
and if anybody's on the fence about doublecrown's offer, I personally think that the Krontjong Devil's non-album stuff always seems to be their best material, and that opinion was formed taking this into an account. I actually considered buying something else thinking "I wouldn't mind a second copy"

My store had a ton of handouts that I missed out on because I waited in a big line before the store opened and they didn't have time to put out the free stuff. I got a free compilation LP from Domino records and a free Beastie Boys and free Capitol Records slip mat for my record player. I already have a cool slip mat from a band I like though. There is going to be an in-store performance as well later in the day by a band I like. I'm going to skip it though. I've got friends coming over.
Did you pick up anything good?

Apparently there was a line in one of the stores I went to (at 7:30PM or so) and I missed out on all the Sonic Youth splits. Otherwise there didn't seem to be much fun there. Another store never got the merchandise. Another store didn't seem to understand what was going on. I only really ended up with the Booker T 7" from the first place I went to, but bought a bunch of non-record store day things anyway
