That looks really cool! The amps sounded very nice, but I couldn't tell if the reverb was any good.

Two comments:
1) There's NO Showman, or 12/15" closed back cabinets! I know the Showman is in the IK Hendrix program, maybe that would be better for surf.
2) Kicking THIS reverb tank could cause damage to your computer - they need to warn people of this...

Have you guys tried Apple's MainStage / Logic Pro ?
Its reverb emulation is amazing.
I overall prefer Amplitube to MainStage, but
the second has a killer reverb emulation.
I can't wait to test the Amplitube Fender tank!!!!!

A guy at HC got an advance copy and made demos. This is the 63 Reverb model into the Twin model. I am so impressed.

Not to bag on it or anything, I am sure its quite good, but computerized digital reverb?!?
After I read that, I read that this is the next big thing...

I don't think it's possible to get a really good digital simulation of tank reverb - because what makes a tank what it is, are the random factors - new shocks being delivered to a spring that is still shocked form the last note. Same reason digital pianos sound sterile - they are missing the internal cross-resonances.
I have a Verbzilla and if you crank it up and play muted, you can hear that every single 'drip' is identical to the last - a tank is nothing like that. The Lexicon rack-reverb in my studio is the same (albeit more realistic on the drips - all of which are still clones though)
A friend of mine has Native Instruments' 'Guitar Rig' which comes up with a nice picture of a '63 tank and with the same control panel. This is a well-regarded program that does some clever stuff, but when you A/B test it next to a real tank, it's laughable.
Personally, I think that all but the cheapest in-amplifier spring reverb usually sounds better than anything digital for Surf music. If not, then just a digital reverb which sounds really good on it's own terms - rather than failing to emulate a tank.

Hey, the Amplitude reverb sounds a hell of a lot better than anything I've been able to get out of Garageband. Total digital envy here.

I agree. Way better than the Guitar Rig 3 reverb too.

i just tried it out. even it's only for producing demos, it's the best spring reverb simulator i've ever heard.
it's sounds really great, it has drip and everything. of course it would never be the same as a real tank, but it's a really good simulator.

Holy Smokes!!! How come I never heard about this until now!
The '63 reverb is the best digital emulation out there... no question.
Unbelievable. I absolutely NAILED dick dale sound using the bassman and the outboard reverb, but the vibro-king is pretty decent too.
The twin with the outboard is instant pipeline. Drip city.
Get it's free 10 day trial run while you still can!

Yeah, it's pretty amazing. It's a bit noisy, but it really has some amazing drip. I'd love to compare it to the real thing, if I could actually afford the real thing.

I posted about this awhile back on my old account (bots). This IS your practise amp solution. I own the required set up (showman, tank, 2x15 jbl's) and i can say that I'm jealous of my laptops ability to nail the sound better than the real thing..... in headphones. all for less than 200 bones!! better have a decent CPU though, i run a dual core with 4 gigs of RAM and it eats 25% of said power
