Hey welcome!
no doubt you've followed the crate block thread so you know there's been talk about the speakers too there.
Ive got 2"1x15 cabs with a JBL D140F in each, and a 2x12 with jensen neo's in it, just so you know where I come from, other's opinbions might differ as always.
what it breaks down to is, imo, this:
want typical slightly metalic hard hitting surf sound? get the weber cali.
want TONS and TONS of ultra clean headroom, and a more flat (as in, flat EQ) sounding speaker, get the Jensen Neo combo.
alternatively, you could choose a 15" neo (less headroom but I'imagine still a lot) or a Jensen K series (i think that's the highest power rating, heck the site for that) or a differnet weber. Ted Weber and his employees have been very friendly and helpful to me, both on his forum and in private e-mails, and gave very sound advice even before I ever bought anything of them, so shoot him a mail of you wnat to know anyhing about his other spekears. they're very resonably priced.
since all these speakers, cali and Neo too, are available in 12" and 15" and multiple ohm-ratings, the speaker-kind and size are things you can decide sepratly. I personally am on the lookout for 2x12 weber cali right now, cause I like the 12"'s better when mic'ed.
as for cabs, if it needs to be low budget, look out for 'butchered cabs' the old 2X15"fridge type cabs which were at one point cut in half and made into a 1x15", or look out for homemade cabs. they are all worth nothing, I scored three fenderstyle cabs for under 50 bucks each in a year or so.
good luck, and check back! oh, be sure to check all the websites for fender, weber etc, there's tons of info all over the place!
