Oh man I forgot to add Remember after every string change or "maintenance, good call Zak" always remember to line up the bearings on the trem unit! and she will always stay in tune/pitch.

Nothing more!
My lady stays in tune! You're great! You're f***ing great!
You know how to behave in women!
IT WAS THE BEARINGS! It's like that from the day I bought it...
The arm is more softer now and one more great thing is that it stays higher, in tune, than before allowing more diving!
THANKS!

I wrap a band of black electrical tap around all the strings right behind the bridge. Then I go back and make sure that the tape has stuck to itself top and bottom. This deadens any behind the bridge sympathetic droning or strings flopping around.
I do the same basic thing on a Jazzmaster or Jaguar in that I wedge a small strip of spongy foam under the strings right in front of the tremolo string plate. It stops that annoying overtone crap.

I dont have any rattle, but it seems that every time i change strings it plays a little diffrently. not bad, but diffrent. I like 10's on it. I am missing one of the origianal bearings, i have a replacement from the hardware store but not quite right.
if anyone has any laying around let me know!
thanks

Man oh man the bearing is going to be a very hard and rare find you know what I wonder if the folks at Hallmark guitars can assist? I would contact those guys and see what the possibilities are, maybe someone else here could chime in any thoughts guys?

At looking at Hallmarks trem I wonder if their bearings will fit reissue and vintage US it never hurts to ask? Yes Zamminc could have the hook up?
Zak do you know of these guys?

I'm surprised the site is still up I came across that site this summer when I was poking around for Mosrite pups on the net but never got a hold of them.

The bearings from Hallmark will fit the vibrato base but the shaft in the rocker is a different size and would require some machining of a step down pin to fit the shaft. When Mel Waldorf built his three pickup Mosrite he researched and learned that the original Mosrites used a Torrington B 46 bearing. However, he found that the B36 was the same dimensions and were cheaper. They are available through <u>Amazon</u>.
A simpler cure might be to clean the bearing and vibrato base with alcohol or Naphtha, then use very minute about of some type of adhesive on the outside edges of the bearing and reinsert before it dries. It can always be removed by heating the bearing with a soldering gun if needed.

Once again.....Locktite. Locktite makes a "hi-fill" compound that will often times take care of a sloppy bearing fit. Either Locktite 620 or 680. Gap fill limits are .015" for either.

Back in topic...
Kyle, I was looking again at your tremolo assemply pics you've posted and I realize that you have different bearings than mine.
Of course mine is a Jap....
Aren't there any screws? How are the bearings stay in place?

Mine doesn't have any covers or allen screws to hold the bearings in place hhmm the bearings are held in by nothing just think of bearings on a skateboard wheel the bearings just pop in and the 2 trem stumps on the sides slide in it's bizarre or at least that's what it looks like to me
