Permalink 63 RI Tank Price

New Topic

Been noticing that the Fender RI tank's price has been jacked up considerably. When I got mine brand new (not to many moons ago) it was around $375. I can't find a new one for less than $500 now. What the heck is going on? I was thinking about getting a back-up, but at this cost, I may be better off trying ebay. I Wonder why these have skyrocketed in price. Sad

PS ebay used to have many of these, now you are lucky to see a few. I hope the RI tanks don't go the way of the dodo bird.

I think prices have always been fluctuating (sp?), they've gone up and down before. 375 is a good deal. Wannea get depressed - try to score one in Europe. webprice E635, i.e. $800 . in shop: E775, i.e $1000.

I'm glad I bought another amp that has onboard reverb, buying a second tank doesn't appeal to me due to the price. Buying a vintage tank appeals to me less.

yeah man I feel ya. My sister lives in England and she tells me how hard some things are to obtain and also how coastly they are. If Fender was wise they would setup a European headquaters. And a development plant over there. Why the heck have they not done that by now?

I bought a vintage 1964 tank for a very good price. It works about half the time even though I had a Fender Service Center go over it. If I had it to do over, I'd by the reissue.

...I build custom stuff all the time and hand-wired reverb units are a pretty quick/low cost build. Stay tuned for the "G-Spring" arriving soon at Gomez Amps.

The RI units aren't even hand wired. I think they are way overpriced considering what goes into one.

Jeff has double picked the correct. They are really a big ripoff at 500 bucks. They are mass produced in Mexico. They are not labor intensive either. I think they would sell a lot more units if the price was $299 and they would make it up in volume. When I used to have my own business, selling high volume at low cost always did better then low volume high cost. But I guess when you have the market cornered like Fender, you don't have to give a shit.

Dario please keep us posted. I've been loving the G Reverb Smile Anyway dude thanks for the strings, I have not sued them yet though. If I owe you cash let me know. I will probably try em when I run out of My Fender Stainless flats. Anyway bro I'd defiently buy a tank from you over fender if the price was right. Hope to talk to you soon dude.

...glad to hear all's well. I've been a bit swamped with orders since the Vintage Guitar Magazine Review so the "G-Spring" has been delayed but I should be able to get a good bunch of them ready by Thanksgiving.

There is a potential/possibility of Gomez Amps being a presence/displaying at NAMM in January so things have been a bit crazy as the deadline to get in fast approaches. I'll decide soon whether or not to go or not. It's mucho dinero to get a 10x10 booth. If we do go I'd take all four of the amps - the "G" Reverb, the "G-Spring," the "Surfer" and the "Canyon Reverb."

Take care. Dario

Guitar Trader has them in stock with free shipping for $379.
