Can I borrow them? Laughing

How do we know that you'll give them back in good condition?

Thanks. I'll be careful with them when I try them out later today. I'm going for the first early 60's Ventures sound, because that's the version I can play (the lead).

OK, you made me work for it.

I'm talking about the rendition from the 1960 WDR LP, so it can't be too sophisticated.

Here's what I figured out:

Into:
Em (over the E/B and D/A notes) B7 (over the B/F#, A/E, and G/D notes) Em (over the ending E/B notes)

Main riff:
2 beats of B7 and 2 beats of C7 over and over terminating in Em

Swing:
E
A
D
B7

Similar to Malaguania sounding part:
Sounds like he's just beating on a B or B7.

Any corrections are welcomed Smile

I think The Ventures were influenced more by Les Paul's version of this tune. Zak?

I've used a diminished chord which I think subs for the 7b9 (play it by ear and don't think much about the theory or chord construction) but any time I experiment with altered chords our bass player gets too freaked out....so it's the dumbed down Ventures version for me!
