So it's come to my attention that I have a lot of guitars. I mean a LOT of guitars. I'm talking like it takes a sheet of paper and a pen for me to keep track of what all I've got. I think the total is up to 19, but I can't be sure.
What I really want to know is: Am I alone in this?

Wait, guitars? Oh, I've only got one.
(Sorry everyone, I couldn't resist )

I was going to vote "I lost track" but it's all inventoried and accounted for.
One day I when decided to take a picture of just my strats I realized there might be case made but it's not really a problem. I can stop any time I want to.
Me? GAS?

Man, it looks like you must have at least $1000 invested in guitar stands alone (not counting the guitars themselves)! Daaaang!

G.A.S. == Gear Acquisition Syndrome
A term I first picked up from the Fender Discussion Pages (FDP).

Not necessarily. Some yes, but depending on the gear you're chasing you don't have to be rich. Theres a Yamaha SGV800 on Ebay right now that won't break the bank... G&L "strats" can be had for a bargain. I'm waiting on a metal flake gold one to arrive. Cost less than a used japanese jag/jm and is a true handmade in the USof A guitar of equal, or some like myself think better quality than a Fender. Yeah, you can't have GAS if you have to choose between shoes or food for your kid, but if you have any discretianary funds to play with, cut out beer for a month, learn to make mac'n cheese from scratch instead of buying the boxed stuff and there are plenty of fun "surf friendly" guitars to be had on the cheap!

Ahhh, that's my thing too -- I haven't played much of anything other than my Mosrite live in probably two years, yet I still find the need to buy more guitars. I'm eyeing a sweptwing now, and always check ebay and all that for any Mosrite that might pop up which I could actually afford.
