That one, and some of the other videos that are obviously from the same concert or tour, sound almost exactly like what became the Beach Boys "Concert" LP. Songs from the same set list, and even the on stage banter leading into 'Little Deuce Coupe" for example . . . are practically identical. But this is probably something Beach Boy fans already know. I was just surprised that this material was also filmed while being recorded, since I just recently became aware of the Youtube clips. I was a big Beach Boys fan (I still like them, of course) and back in the 70's bought a double album re-release on Pickwick--remember them? It was called "High Water" and contained a collection of singles and b-sides on one of the records, I think, and on the other was the "Concert" album. I especially liked their version of the Four Freshmen's "Graduation Day". |

The first song is a absolutely huge waste of musicianship and vocal talent. However, it was a lot of fun watching them play it. The second song, they didn't seem like they were having as much fun. ] I'm a big fan by the way. |
