I'm continuing this in the gear forum.

The Mystery Men?
El Capitan and The Reluctant Sadists

In all fairness that is one of the worst demonstration videos I have ever heard. The guy can't play his way out of a wet paper bag, he makes every pickup combination sound the same, and if that was all I had to base my opinion on, I would never want one of those guitars!

Yeah, a lot of people said his pick attack was to weak, that that guitar was meant to be attacked (picking). And they also suggested to tape the mic to his head. Laughing

I also like to think that all early 60's fender equipment is happy to be playing surf music again. After all, its the music it was meant to play.

Yeah, especially after Jimmy Garrets goons attacked me because I said he wasn't a prodigy, they took my medicore video from 4 and a half to a 2, it's gone up to 3 and half. It wasn't that good, so I think it deserves a 2 and a half.

Gear demonstration videos shouldn't be allowed on youtube.

I already know which vid this is from the description alone.

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

These two songs (the next one is the first video posted to the right) are just amazing.

Quite disappointing that they don't mention that these two songs are actually covers. The first song is of course "Black Sand Beach" by Yuzo Kayama and the second is "Rod Hot Rod" by the King Pins.

Hi Klas,
so, I know what you mean... Cover songs and they let the people know the songs are from them...
I changed the desriptions a bit yet!

Let me tell you that I sometimes do some videos on youtube for selling guitars on ebay. So these days I am selling two Hallmark pickups. Therefore theres a little video in youtube where you can hear this pickups. We are playing Surf Party. I mentioned this in the information block. What happens on youtube with such videos: Many people are start asking me "How do you get this surfsound?" "Which amp do I need?" "Which reverb is good?" "What strings?" And so on... Many young people are interested in surfsound when they discover those videos I guess! And they dont discover those videos when I write just our bandname and song title in the description. Most people are looking more for guitars than for surfbands, because they don`t know us surfbands...
So I do this videos in the name of Surfmusic! Yeah!!!!

And of course its a nice ad for us bands. For me its fun too!

Alright, see you on youtube! javascript:emoticon(':D')

twang cheers to everybody!

I ran across these on Youtube a while back and I've been going back to them almost every time I sit down at the computer for weeks now. These two songs (the next one is the first video posted to the right) are just amazing.

It seems to me like there's an awful lot of awesome stuff coming from various parts of Europe these days. Does anybody know much about these guys?

Ha! I know them! Arrogant germans! Boring surfmusic... always the same...

....not really, ok, in fact I established the band in 1998...
I discovered this topic here a bit late, because I wasn`t here on the 101 forum for a longer time... ('')

Thanks for kind words!!
Yes, we played a 3 weeks westcoats tour in 2006!
It was fantastic. Sean Berry made this possible for us! And of course the whole west coast surf community! There are so many people we have to thank a lifetime! Of course SeanBerry! Ted from The Detonators who gave us a home for over a week!!! Bigtikidude! Tony from Outerwave! Kyle & Marie from The Verbtones, The Verb, Doug Paulin, SatanĀ“s Pilgrims, HBISM, and many more!!!!

And, yes, we had a band break for over a year now. Volker left the band, Matze is the new guitarist. And Tom has got a baby now.
I don`t wanted to have this break. (':(')
The break started directly after the USA tour...

Meanwhile we play gigs again with the new magmanaut and get people dancing!!! And we`ve go too much guitars...
We are working on new songs for a new album. We have nearly 8 or 9 songs finished and want to do more. Maybe we have two or three or four covers on the album as always.

Twang cheers to all of you!
