I am listening to Mott the Hooples', "Brain Capers". Before that, I was listening to "The Hoople". They may be having a reunion, or, maybe not. No one is sure yet, not even the band!
Hahahaha!

Jan 16, 2009

"Just thought you'd like to know the Mott the Hoople reunion IS going
to take place on October 2nd & 3rd, 2009 at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo
in London. It will be the original members - Mick, Pete, Phally, Buff
and me. They've asked our esteemed webmaster, Justin, to formulate a
Mott the Hoople site which should be up and running in the near future.
Why are we doing it? I can't speak for the others, but I'm doing it
just to see what it's like. Short of war, death, famine etc. ...it's
ON."

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Technicolor Web Of Sound - http://www.techwebsound.com/ - a streaming audio "radio station" via the iTunes player.
Lots of the tunes are the less well-known album cuts, not just the top-40 selections that most "golden oldies" stations play. No need for $$$ or registration.
The last couple of tunes they played were:

  • Steppenwolf - 'At Your Birthday Party' LP Ad
  • Product Ad - Panasonic Car & Home Stereo
  • Concert Promo - Jeff Beck, Moody Blues & Ten Years After
Orange Bicycle - Go With Goldie
    Skip Bifferty - Time Track
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - The Stars That Play With Laughing Sam's Dice
Jethro Tull - Up To Me
    The Rogues - Secondary Man
Orange Peel - Searching For A Place To Hide
The Apple Pie Motherhood Band - Long Live Apple Pie
Strawberry Alarm Clock - Black Butter Past^Black Butter Present^Black Butter Future
  • Acid Talk - LSD Warning
13th Floor Elevators - Roller Coaster
Country Joe & The Fish - Section 43
    Buffalo Springfield - Broken Arrow
    James Gang - Garden Gate
Tommy James & The Shondells - Evergreen
The Moody Blues - I Never Thought I'd Live To Be A Million
The Kinks - Tired Of Waiting For You
  • The Classics IV - 'Song' LP Ad
  • Softdrink Ad - 7-Up
  • KHJ Radio Station Promo - Cass Elliot Puppy
  • They intersperse the songs with late '60s radio advertisements, concert promos and PSAs (public service announcements) from (I think) San Francisco.

Great for when you're sitting at the computer working on stuff, or to broadcast throughout the house with a low-power FM transmitter.

I'm not a complete idiot. Some parts are missing.

The Skeptics' Guide To The Universe podcast.

Well, I just finished listening/watching the web video called End Game (all 2+ hours of it). I'm working about 500km north of Winnipeg and my hotel only has one TV station, but they have high speed internet - go figure.

If you haven't seen it, it is basically a conspiracy video on how a handful of corporate and political elite are shaping the world towards a "new world order" where the earths population is about 20% of what it now is and people like you and I are willing slaves. It's sort of like Brave New World meets 1984.

If you have the inclination to see it, go to Google Video and key in End Game.
