I just got an email from Amazon telling me the Challengers' album California Kicks was available:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001QFZNBY/
The page says > This product is manufactured on demand using CD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply
Looks like a different track list than the other Challengers CDs I have.
Anybody know anything about the on-demand production?

I don't know about that particular CD.
A couple of years ago I bought a recording the Three Penny Opera which was issued by Sony music on a CD-R. Apparently they do this with a lot of obscure Classical and Theater music.

I'm guessing Amazon is waiting for orders & then burning the CD as they come in. Not hard to do if the demand is relatively small. Don't quote me on that though, I don't work for Amazon.
