Congrats on the long-awaited release, Mel! I just ordered
it, and can't wait to hear it. I hope that Los Mel-tones will be
playing some gigs. For that matter, I'd really dig a Mach IV reunion.
How about it???

Thanks guys. No plans for a live performance yet, maybe a Mach-tones IV show someday?

As you can see from the last posts in this thread, The Meltones "Surf, Spy, Space" came out December 2006. I listened to it quite a bit when it came out, including the time I spent dressing our Festivus tree. I pulled it out again last year while doing the lights (the most stressful part of the season). The funny thing is, this year I was genuinely craving "Surf, Spy, Space" as I pulled out the boxes of decorations. Yes, this album has become a holiday classic around here, right along with Phil Spector's and The Beach Boys' Christmas albums.
I'm not saying it's appropriate to the season, but it's a great record. Seek it out, or ask Santa for it.

Great great album.
Agreed, though the holiday connection is lacking for me personally. It's always a good time of year to listen to this album!

You have to listen to the record backwards to hear the secret holiday messages. That, and a few spiked eggnogs help too!
