I don't believe that it needs to say "reissue" now a days to be a reissue the name of the model alone says it all so one can only assume it to be a reissue, re-vamped or what ever it still bares the model name of the original.

My thoughts exactly Twisted Evil Fender needs to stop re-vamping crap around at least make faithful reproduction if there going to use a model from the past.

I don't know. We just had a thread where a strong sentiment was a DRRI is too little power and a twin is too much. They give us 40 watts with a 2x12. It's not for me, or for most people here. But then again nothing made in the last 40 years is for most people here Hmmm

The effects they put on it are as "old school" as it gets. If you want a real bandmaster, buy one. But as an option to the Hot Rods? Why not?

I just saw the new "Band-Master" listed on an online retailer, list $900, your price only $650! I just bought an original '65 in great shape for $500. And if something goes wrong, I can fix it myself.

Thats fuckin gross! Give up fender!

Give me reverb or give me death!

I want to know who's the moron that attached the Fender logo?..................geeez.

Once again, "close......but no cigar."

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

I don't know, guys. This amp is a Bandmaster in name only. That is a time-worn tactic for years and years to give dissimilar parts the same name. (You remember how the 1982 Ford Mustang and the 1965 Ford Mustang were a little different, right? Very Happy )

Anyhow, they offer a lot of oldie reissues, some with the exact circuits as their 60s namesakes. (Forget PCBs, okay? I am not defending a build ethic.)

This model is designed for your average Fall Out Boy fan, who, let's face it, is not gonna be playing a faithful Bandmaster clone.

As well, if someone on the FMIC board has a minor stroke and decides that the world needs a _rea_l Bandmaster to round out the 1,287 other catalog products they offer, then it will be called the "63 Bandmaster Reissue" or something. Nothing to stop them.

Wow...did you drama queens threaten to slit your wrists when they introduced the Cyber Twin?

I slit my wrists at the introduction of the introduction of the '62 RI Strat. IT DIDN"T EVEN HAVE CLAY DOTS!

But in seriousness Fender has been recycling amps names forever. Even the Brown amps were just renamed from the tweed series.

Also, if I may add. Nobody here has heard or played through this amp yet. Well I think the odds of it being decent are long, we shouldn't judge something before we play it. Sure it has built in effects, but that doesn't mean you have to use them. There could be a brilliant circuit hidden under that hideous facade(the faceplate is not laid out in an attractive manner). So please don't go crazy how this is heresy, this is how people become religious fundamentalists.

One more thing, if I go back and find out if any of you said anything nice about the Crate Powerblock and slag off this amp(especially without trying it) I am going to give one big wag of my finger to you.

I am so with you on the new Crate amps. They suck! Problem is that the new Crate Powerblocks are not the same as my original! The superbright blue LED is 470nm, sure, but the original was 17mW and these johnny-come-lately Pussy Powerblocks are only 13 mW! And those so-called "electrical engineers" think that we players cannot hear the difference in tone?! Right... Phail!

Phail.... That was awesome.

Dang, such hostility! I actually like my RI '59 bassman LTD a lot, but I've been out of the loop for years, so what do I know. I don't even know who "fall out boy" is either. Laughing

Dude you are out of the loop. Fall Out Boy is Radioactive Man's sidekick! In the movie he was played by Milhouse Van Houten.

The Crate Powerblock was the best $99 amp EVER! I'm waiting for my cat to sit on it so I can take a pic and caption it "I can playz PowerBlock now?". That one was for you Jake Suicide

I'd love to see that lolcat!
