Permalink Recording method?

Well after listening to all you great musicians play I got inspired and bought a Tascom 4track recorder to practice with. But I am having a hard time figuring out how to make the sounds match. Embarassed

My question is, what track do you put down first?
bass, rythem or lead?

many different ways to do this...

rhythm guitar or bass is a good place to start...I usually begin with a drum track or drum machine track...
