Great. Terry is so edgy--the playing is filled with such manic energy all with that strident tone and hyper trem. I'm always impressed with the clips you post. Listening always makes me feel slightly agitated, but in a good way.

Just stumbled on some real footage of the song. Didn't know the Bunnys' singer was a girl though! And I've never seen Terry in a hat like that.

Terry is such a great guitar player!

He is definitely one of the best surf guitar players of all time!

Does anyone know if Terry and his band ever play here in the States?

Zak is right.
They played never in the States. If they had played in the USA there would be a few Terry live LPs out there I guess. I have got a live LP from one of their Russia tours. (Early 70s...?)
They played big stadiums in Moscow with thousands of people at their gigs!
I guess they toured Russia about 1972/74?

Is there another guitarist with such an own style?
Innovative licks by Terry! (In fact he played some kind of Speed/Thrash Metal licks, but without any distortion! Therefore it was called Surf Music. )

Ah, when we talk a bit about Terry: I am searching the "Rashomon" on CD. Anybody knows where to find?

I have got the "Rashomon" on LP. I got two of them.
But I would also like to have it on CD.
I know that a CD of it was released in 2000 or so. On "KingRecords" in Japan I guess.

If you like Terry's Rashomon LP, you'll probably like these guys, but not all their records sound like the two tunes in the links above...they did some pretty cheesy stuff along with the mindbending tunes.

Oh yeah! Thanks! Those links are fine. The first is really great stuff!!! Absolute japanese style with jap folk music roots. Very cool!

I know Sharp 5, but, yes, the most of them is Ventures style. (I love The Ventures!). But there are also some Ventures covers by Terry which I prefer.

I think that is recent footage of the Sharp Five's original guitarist...not 100% sure.

It doesn't really look like their lead guitarist, Nobuhiro Mine ... but then again most of the pics I've seen of Mine are 40 years old. He's not smiling in most of them, though.
