SEATTLE: The Seattle Theatre Group (STG) is proud to present the SONICS with special guest Girl Trouble at 8:00 pm, Friday October 31, 2008 at the Paramount Theatre.
After a 40 years hiatus the SONICS are returning to the Paramount Theatre for their first concert in the Northwest since the band regrouped in 2007. Their last performance in Seattle was at the Paramount Theatre in 1973.
Originating from Tacoma, Washington The SONICS combined classic Northwest-area teen band raunch with early English band grit, relentless rhythmic drive, and unabashed '50s-style blues shouting for a combination that still makes their brand of rock & roll perhaps the raunchiest ever captured on wax.
The SONICS original sound, songs and gut wrenching screams from their classic Etiquette Records Here Are The Sonics and Sonics Boom albums attracted international audiences and musicians proclaiming the Sonics as the creator fathers of punk, alternative rock, hard rock and pre-grunge.
In November 2007 the band traveled to New York City for their first concert in 35 years at the Warsaw Forum, 2 nights in Brooklyn, sold out. March 2008 they were invited to London to perform live on the BBC, then headlining 2 incredible shows at the London Forum. Exceptional press and reviews sent the Sonics traveling several times to Europe this spring and summer performing at several festivals and notable venues.
