Ive been using pedals less and less each year. Right now its a reel echo, voodoo labs trem, jekyl and hyde overdrive and a boss tuner.
The reel echo i bought a month ago to replace my delay for the slap back sound, im reel happy with this pedal.
Oh yeah, EH Holy grail plus sucks ass. dont waste your money

I used an old small plastic Samsonite suitcase, probably 12" x 16". I popped the hinges off so that I could use the "bottom" of the suitcase as the board, and added leather straps with snaps to the top so I can close it up for transport.
That's pretty much like the hillbilly solution I came up with except that I cut and epoxy glued the guts of a nasty Johnson powered pedalboard into an old 45 record player lid. The case already had detachable hinges. Mending straps hold the pedals on.

I use a Speed King mostly, although sometimes a DW 7000 or Camco chain drive - all are great, but the Speed King really gives that retro sound!
I use a very non-retro chain drive Yamaha DFP 9315 Double Pedal. I'll bet the Speed King is nice but in general, vintage drum hardware had much to be desired. Drum hardware is one category of musical instruments where I like the modern gear over the vintage stuff. On the other hand, many vintage drums shells are great.

My pedalboard consists of but two pedals, a TU-2 because you never know when you might need it. I think they're probably the best pedal known to man.. and an Electro Harmonix LPB-1, which is a handy(and cheap!) little booster for kicking it up a notch for solos.
I wouldn't know what to do with any more pedals, too much to think about when you're the frontman of a group aswell.

Here is my basic live rig:

So, do like you have to call the local electrical authority and warn them when you're going to power "things" up...
Naw.....he's got one of these in the backyard.

For each rig, I make sure I have the following: tuner, overdrive (optional), slap back delay (optional), tremolo, reverb, and boost. The effects can be on the pedal board or on the amp, but those are the basic components. If it's all on the board, I use:
Boss TU-2 tuner
Tim or Timmy overdrive
Carl Martin Red Repeat delay
Carl Martin Surf Trem or Trem-o-vibe
EH Holy Grail Plus reverb
MXR Micro-amp boost
With this rig, I can plug into any amp and have all the basics.

Pardon my probable stupidity but . . . do you really own all of those pedals? If so, what do you think of the ME-50. To me it seems like a great deal for someone that rarely uses pedals but likes to have them available if the situation demends it.

Synchro...no, no, I do not! LOL! And if I did, and it were my basic live rig, I think you should recommend therapy.

I wasn't sure if you were pulling our collective leg or not. Whoever has that pedal collection needs to take step one, admit that they have a problem.

I made this cheap board with 1/4' plywood. It works very well, the bands keep the pedals in place without causing any damage, I Iove the low tech look.
