Listening to some KFJC comps, I realize that the Pit at Foothill College is a pretty magical place, with top-notch performances from everyone who stopped by. I didn't listen to KFJC for too long before Phil Dirt left, so I didn't get to hear too many performances as they happened. But I was wondering, even with Phil gone, if any surf bands have (I haven't listened since he left ) or ever will stop at KFJC for shows? With PD there or no, it would be awesome to continue hearing such great performances on the air.

KFJC claimed that the surf band pit-stops would continue. Like you,
I quit listening to KFJC when Phil went off the air. I check their
announcements of special events, and have ssen no announcements
of surf band pit-stops since then. To my knowledge, none have occur-
red since Phil bailed. The Killaueas, and certainly the Madeira, are
obvious choices that would've certainly been aired on pit-stops had Phil
been around. Phil left some huge shoes to fill, but I wish somebody
would step in and bring a weekly surf show back to KFJC. It has been
a H-U-G-E loss to the surf community!

FWIW- the Whys (from Japan) will be making a KFJC pit appearance on Nov 3 on Grawer's show, which, I think, is at 2 in the afternoon. Tune in!
More on The Whys tour soon, but check their myspace page:
