You know how, when you just don't need or want another guitar, right then someone makes you an offer you can't refuse? Monster bargain. Sounds terrific. Stacked bridge pickup on a push-pull pot.
2014 Michael Kelly 53. Very comfortable, full neck. Not a mark on it. Needed nothing but strings, in this case D’Addario NYXL 11-46. I like them a lot on this guitar.
I tell ya' I just couldn't help myself.

Cool Tele Noel! Everyone needs a Tele in their arsenal. Consider putting in a 4-way switch.

Thanks, everyone.
I have to admit how much it doesn't sound like anything else. I love the tiger stripes; they remind me so much of the back of Dad's violin. It's made in Indonesia, and has Stratocaster body contours. The 53 is far more gorgeous in person that it looks in the pic. If I were a rich man, I would have bought one of Jeff's black guard Pomonas, or at least a Fender AV '52. But this is so much nicer playing and sounding than the Squier Teles I'd found.
Bob, what exactly does a 4-way switch do on a Tele?

The extra switch position is usually wired to have the bridge and neck pickups in series.
Oh and congrats Noel. If the GA group gives you a hard time about it, blame Santa

LeeVanCleef beat me to it. Essentially, the fourth position will sound fatter & more humbucker-ish, while retaining the original sounds out of the other three switch positions.

Interesting. I think this is what the push-pull tone pot which engages the stacked single coil bridge pickup is supposed to do.

It's the one guitar I never thought I'd want, until I started to learn a Buck Owens song. Telecasters and Buck Owens songs. Who knew? But it isn't really a Telecaster. The Strat body contours, the headstock shape, a pearloid guard? It's too fancy to be a proper telecaster.

Noel congrats on the Telecaster.
Beware........ as Teles are habit forming. Have you checked out TDPRI online yet?
Out of curiosity, what Buck Owens song?

A track without a telecaster! Love that song, and the Bakersfield sound.

If I had to break my electric guitar collection down to just two guitars
one would definitely be a Tele.
It's interesting now that I think about it, one would without a doubt be a Tele but the other..............?
I'd have to think harder on that one.
Glad you got one Noel!
Cheers,
Jeff
