If you haven't heard yet, in appreciation of all Jeff's hard work, we took up a collection to buy Jeff a new computer to replace his old worn out PC. The donations were so overwhelming that we received enough to buy a brand new macbook AND a roundtrip ticket to next year's Surfer Joe Surf Music Festival in Livorno Italy. Surfer Joe himself aka Lorenzo Valdembrini, has offered to cover Jeff's accommodations, so Jeff's all set to have the time of his life next summer.

I'd like to thank everyone who contributed, and for those of you who hadn't heard about it in time, don't feel bad. We received plenty of money already. Perhaps you can consider throwing a few bucks in to the monthly donations for SG101's website, if the urge is too great? Big Grin

The generosity of this community (including lots of Tiki fans as well) is truly humbling. All weekend long in SoCal the love and mutual appreciation was almost tangible. We are so fortunate to have the internet, and SG101.com, which allows us all to communicate in a way unheard of in the past.

Below I'll post some photos and a list of who donated...

Look at that list of donors!!! Jeff, you are dearly loved, my brotha!

Thanks Danny for putting this in motion!

Btw, Jennifer Bowman is my wife Jenny. Her Paypal name hast been updated yet :p

Danny,
Thanks for posting this.
I wanted to thank everybody,
But not seem to be bragging.
I am extremely overwhelmed by this.
I would never want or expect this kind of
Generosity, for it to be givin without my knowledge or asking
Is just beyond words at this point.
All I can say is that I am extremely greatful to all involved.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I'm getting a little choked up just typing this.

Gotta load up the gear, off to another show with
The 2 euro bands!!!!

Congrats Jeff! That is an amazing list of people, I could say "You lucky devil!" but it isn't luck, you've worked incredibly hard at promoting surf music and you've done it all with kindness and without any ego or selfish pretense.

Congrats Jeff, you earned it.

Really really cool!!! Thanks for capturing this moment and sharing it to all who couldn't attend the convention.

Hope Jeff will make it to Belgium after Surfer Joe '15. We (Los Venturas) would like to show him the brewery of Chimay, Jeff's favorite beer.

Well deserved! Danny & Co. are beyond great people for putting this together. I've been pretty unplugged from the interwebs lately. I'll definitely put my contribution towards the site.

Have a blast Jeff!

JEFF

You, like Baja Marty, are my "Reverb Brother"

What you have done to keep instrumental surf music so alive, the amount of extraordinary talent you have assembled over time, the enormous giving of so much of your daily schedules to ensure all of us get to share in the experience of surf music live (no genre, yes NO GENRE performed LIVE compares to instro-beat surf). We all love you and are grateful to you for all the energy you emit, you are 'the ultimate MC' my Friend. You are on a parallel course with Lorenzo Surfer Joe Valdambrini (and his Brother), another one of my "Reverb Brothers". And now that Lorenzo keeps coming back to SG-101, it's finally time for you to experience the Italian version of what you do!!

This year has beat the fuck out of me. I laid in a Hospital Bed as the SURFER JOE SUMMER FESTIVAL got underway. I've been there every year since 2008, until this Year. Besides the health issues that caused me to be there, the pain I had for missing The Festival was horrific, and I'm still feeling the loss; while at the same time I'm on the other side of that. Then came the follow-up procedure in July, which was supposed to be an overnight stay. Well, there were minor complications, which kept me in ICU for several days. I won't go into details -- this thread is about you! My point is, this 2d hospital experience ultimately kept me from attending this year's SG-101....and man, does that ever hurt. I so wanted to watch you get the gifts all of us lovingly contributed to.

I do my little part in NYC where I set out to create a "Surf Scene", and I did, lo and behold. Haven't missed presenting a monthly SURF-ROCK SHINDIG since May, 2004!!

We all love this music genre. That reverb, that sound, those melodies, the incredible musicians that perform this music, the live events where we can share our joy with other 'Reverb Junkies', and also what I call "sunset chords", a term I came up with -- those beautiful, luscious chords with echo & reverb -- man do those ever move me!! ....man it's all so damn special. And you, my dear Friend and Brother, are extra-special!!

I hope, God willing, that You, Lorenzo, and I can share the stage at The 2015 Surfer Joe Summer Festival. East Coast, West Coast, Europe and beyond, all represented in one setting. Magnificent!!

BRAVO TO BIG TIKI DUDE
GRAZIE FOR ALL YOU HAVE GIVEN ME (& OTHERS)

YOU ROCK.
YOU ROLL.
SIMULTANEOUSLY!!

BLESS YOU,

UNSTEADY FREDDIE
Your Reverb Brother

and may the spirit of BAJA MARTY continue to influence all of us; and watch over us & the incredible power & beauty of that dripping wet reverb!!
