Permalink Size of the Reverb Tank...

New Topic

Aloha Yall.
Do you guys think it is possible to build a "Reverb tank" chasis in a smaller version than the known RI size?
I bought the Gomez unit, and Mr. Boost from Los Venturas is going to do the woodshop work for me.
Friends rule!
Take care, and thanks

I always thought the Fender unit was a rather awkward size and wish my Gibson unit was 1/2" shorter. I think they stayed large for cosmetic reasons. As long as the tubes can 'breathe' and no transformer coil's EM field impinges on the function of the reverb recovery coil, I don't see why it can't be smaller.

Squink Out!

Size of the Reverb tank...........doesn't matter, it's how you use it.......

Oh wait, never mind!

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Et voila, had the chance to handed over El Firetone's new 'Booster' reverb cab last night in combination with a very fine El Ray show. It was a great night!

One consideration re. cab size is the distance of the pan from the chassis' power transformer. You don't want the pan's transformer coils too close to it as it will induce a lot of hum!

Beautiful cab!

I can add that this cab is impressively built and looks fantastic. Christoph Boost was doing pro-work here!
