Permalink Surf groups needed for WTUL/Storm Surge of Reverb fundraiser show (New Orleans)

Hey y'all

We have an annual slew of fundraisers for our radio station in March (for pretty much the majority of March) and what we learned last year is that the niche shows tended to be a better bet than the big-ticket shows. Given the popularity of my surf show, the concert director is pretty keen to do a Surf Nite. While we have about three local groups, I'd rather bring somebody in from out of town to make it a bit more special.

Obviously, I don't have many specifics (dates, payment)... in fact, you can feel free to pitch some to us. We were actually thinking about aiming for a weekend, so that ought to be easier on the day jobs.

Consider this fishing for interest. If I have a few contacts to work for, I could swing them by our concert director and see what we can hash out.

Please drop me a line if you are interested in Kill,Baby...Kill! for this.

Without a doubt! I was definitely thinking Birmingham area groups were where I might end up reaching for, and y'all were the first ones in my head out of that crowd. I'll talk to our concert coordinator and see if I can extract some more details out of her.

Indeed. It would be just the kick in the butt we need to finally get down to Louisiana. Plus, we will hopefully have our new album ready by then.

Hi,I have a surf/instro band called the Mag Seven from TX. We'll probably be available if you would be interested? You can sample us on ITunes or at this link:http://soundcloud.com/mag-seven/sets/the-mag-seven/ It's just a sample of songs I put up. You can contact me at doni@thetoadies.com if you're open to it. If so I'll arrange to have our cd's sent out to you asap. Hope to talk to you soon

Nice! I believe we've got Knife to a Gunfight in the stacks (props to y'all for proper radio promotion!). Great record, would love to hear what you've done since then. Really, Mag Seven + KBK plus one or two of our local acts sounds like something to be proud of, but I'll definitely take others into consideration in case we can't work something out. Sending you an email Donivan.

Looks like Mag Seven is out. Date is probably March 2nd and we could still use one more band to compliment KBK and our local acts.

Did we ever get the venue nailed down?
