My surf band has been having a lot of fun doing a surf version of "White Wedding" at our gigs, and I have loaded a recording of it, played on a Telecaster with a Bigsby, in the "Gear Samples" section of the Downloads link.
In addition to surf, our band gets into Link Wray and other instrumental rock, and I really like the deep twang of the Tele, although the bridge pickup on my Strat certainly produces great bite, too.
Fellow SG101 member Subdigit6 has heard us play this song at Denver clubs, and has nicknamed it "Whitecap Wedding"....we like that!

I have a 92 tele thinline reissue '72 with two dumbuckers I play for surf.
I like it a lot really!
it has really good tone for Belairs type stuff and I'm NOT a fan of buckers, but these I like.
haven't played a "traditional" tele in years so can't say if it's a sound I'd like for surf.
