thought this post by ACE of the AQUAMARINES and my response (from
COWABUNGA YAHOO) would be worth re-posting here

Hey ACE
Bless you and your AQUAMARINE brothers for the effort way above and
beyond the call of duty at Oakland's 'More Public Radio'
It never would have come off without your actions taken
you turned "the pits" into a "pseudo Pit", if you will!!
Most most grateful to you (and the lads)
And also for the honesty in answering questions posed at you by me
while LIVE on the radio/internet for all to hear -- it helped make
surf music that more 'real', and more 'sincere' -- see, the thing
about surf music is that it's essentially unpretentious (is that a
word?), very little ego (OK sorry I forgot about Dick Dale!) -- it's
honest what-you-see/hear-is-what-you-get kind of music
so I think we all collectively did a great thing for the genre on
Sunday when we did that live show
thx, I cannot tell you what a thrill it was
