Phil,
I mean it... it is very hard to keep secrets these
days, so please don't read this. The rest of you, just
scroll down a ways.

There will be a very special guest at tomorrow nights
party at The Brookdale Lodge- The original Meremn,
with Allen Whitman returning to the Bass for this very
special gig. Do not miss this show!!! Music starts at
7pm.
Phil, if you read this, I'm sorry to ruin the
surprize, but there are a lot of Mermen fans out there
who would like to know.
Thanks to Jim, Martyn and Allen for making this
happen!
Ferenc

Good ol' Jet Blue. I laughed at your having Jet Blue in bold. Those
guys really took a hit from the whole emergency landing thing.

did you see THE WORLD ACCORDING TO GARP?
he bought the house b/c a plane crashed into it
figuring, well, that ain't gonna happen again too soon.....
in other words, it's safer today than before the emergency
told the planes are pretty full
oh well
in God's hands
UNSTEADY FREDDIE
Hey Freddie, that Jet Blue pilot was very good. He did exactly the
right thing and they waited until there wasn't much fuel left. You
might norice that they did not foam the runway. That's because everyone
knew how to land with that problem, and they did not expect trouble.
Only the media was all hyped up. Passengers were fine until they saw
those knockleheads on CNN misrepresenting the situation.
That kind of emergency happens often in wartime, and pilots train for
it. I once saw a P2V-7 pilot have to do that. It was the other of the
two planes I could have been aboard on a routine trip from Seattle to
Alameda. He was able to keep the nose up until he was down to well
under 30 nauts. He balanced braking left and right independently with
using the props and elevators to hold the nose off the deck as he
slowed. It settled so gently on the nose and came to a soft barely
scarping stop that we only needed to replace some skin under the nose.
Everyone gave him a standing ovation when he stepped out of plane.
