Line 6 Verbzilla

Zone Fighter (zonefighter) - 19 Oct 2005 21:51:48

This could be a fun new toy....
Note that is has '63 Spring and Cave settings! Has anyone heard one in person?
I have a ToneCore EchoPark which has nice delays clean but is kind of
noisey when used in a high gain setup. I also have a ToneCore Space
Chorus which is pretty decent.

Yep, I listened to it after sending the e-mail. They really should
have gotten someone who knew how to play surf to record that. I'm
waiting for one to show up at the local GC so I can give it a whirl
myself.

A note to the line 6 verbzilla discussed recently:
i thought the soundsample was rather convincing - but here's one for
you: I have a digitech digidelay or whatsitcalled, which sounds not
at all bad, from teh websample, though, the verbzilla seems to
perform a bit better.
but: I noticed that the digitech sounds very convincing at low
volumes through a practice amp, but becomes less and less so, when
turning up volume on a "real" amp and apporaching live volume. - it
just drips less and sounds more artificial. still not bad in
the "nowhere near tank league", but a noticable difference between hi
and lo volume use.
juast thought I'd mention it - if you check the verbzilla, make sure
the store lets you turn up the volume.
anyone else notice the same thing with digital reverb pedals? anyone
brave enough to admit they own one ;-)

I missed some of this thread. What's the web address to the sample in
question? Thanks.

WR,
You know, I don't own one of these things, but I have a friend
that plays mostly blues. He's got the new Holy Grail (and there
are other newer models now), and I was impressed. We only played
in a studio (where he teaches), so the room was tiny, but we did
crank it up. I'd say that it was quite close, at least from what
I heard. Still a noticable difference, but not by much. <g>

I think the Nebulas guitar players brought both tanks and some backup
gadgetry (maybe Holy Grail) in the the event the tank(s) crapped out.
