Let me add another "you rock"!
Shawn Martin
Life is short. Play for the music. Wear your heart on your sleeve.
I am curious as to where the Slacktone amp is as well. Dave sounds
just as good with the Bassman. I think Dave needs to get a matching cab.

The Slacktone amp is in the shop getting a second
reverb mix control which will be switched with a
footswitch that will trigger a silent relay.
That's '62 Bassman with a '63 cab with Jensen reissue
P12N speakers. Mint '64 Reverb Unit, and a tube
Echoplex. Japan Jag with reissue Burns Trisonics, with
all USA hardware.
Those kids were so cool, and SMART!

That's a bassman!!!??? I guess I see Showmen everywhere I look. I
loved how those kids were dancing behind you guys...too funny!
BN
The finish of the Jaguar didn't come from Japan like that did it? It
is one of the best finished I have ever seen. Gorgeous.
And about the echoplex. Is that was is in that box of yours that sits
next to the reverb unit. Do you still use that Memory Man or was that
always strictly a backup?
Was Three Cherries an original? I don't recognize it as something
else. I like it.

Brian, you can tell it is a Bassman because on the second channel
there are only 3 knobs. The 4th knob is divided by a line and it
Presence. The Bandmaster has 5 and the Showman 6. Pretty sure that
applies tot he 60-62s as well.

The jaguar is purple metalflake {big flake, like a hot
rod}, with kind of a rasberry tint to it which looks
red under lights. The paint was done by Jason Davis, a
former Fender Custom Shop Master Builder, in his own
shop.
The green box is a tube Echoplex, with the cartridge
now loaded with Ampex/Quantagy 456 tape. I have three
of these magic machines. I still have a Memory Man
which I think is a great echo. I used one on the Euro
tour last year because my reverb in the Slacktone Amp
was not right, so I needed to carry a Fender reverb
unit. I usually bring an Echoplex as carry on, but
this time it had to be a tank.
I like the borrowed MM so much, I bought one when I
got home. I got it on Ebay, and it has a true bypass
mod. The power light is now echo off/on indicator.
True bypass is cool except if you want to use the MM
on only
one of your two amps. {If you use two at the same
time}
The problem is that the phase flips 180* between echo
off/on, it screws up the two amp combo thing.Use MM on
both amps, and no problem.
Yeah, it's a new song. Gotta get your feet wet sooner
or later...

Finally got to downloading this stuff - Wow, thanks so much for putting
that up. It's been three years or so since i saw slacktone live, and i
completly forgot how awesome it is to actually SEE them play - people
having fun making music. and the kids are cool. I think i see all kids
in the frontrow too ... slacktone's planted the seeds for the 2020's
surf craze! (as a figure of speach, of course)
