Hey Jacob -
It was in a posting made earlier today. I said, if my band was playing at a
similar event, knowing The Ventures, The Chantays, The Surfaris and Dick Dale
were following, we would NOT play Walk Don't Run, Pipeline, Wipe Out or
Misirlou. No-one needs to go ape-shit on a band that does otherwise. As it
happened, apparently a very enthusiastic and insistent audience spoke loud and
clear, in their request that Slacktone play Misirlou, and Dusty and Dave W. went
along with the audience, for which one really can't blame them!
Everyone knows that Dick is a most appropriate name for Mr. Dale, and he's
definitely NOT picking up any goodwill by talking trash about any other player,
especially Dusty, who's gotta be one of the absolute best drummers on the
planet.
Dick has been a self-absorbed, arrogant, egotistical individual forever. If I'm
not mistaken, it was Dick who dubbed himself "King of the Surf Guitar" for
cryin' out loud! Are you really surprised at his recent bad behavior?
