MuerTones rock the Ventura Primer Nationals Labor Day weekend

Punk Rock Legend Grammy Recipient Marky Ramone & Bat Mobile & Munster Koach Builder George Barris amongst notables to join festivities celebrating 10th Anniversary of The Ventura Nationals Labor Day Weekend 2012.
 
The 10th Annual Ventura Nationals Hot Rod & Motorcycle Show and Music Festival is rolling back onto the Ventura Fairgrounds Saturday Sept.1st & Sunday Sept 2nd. 500+ Pre 1969 American Hot Rods, Kustoms, Classics, Trucks, Low-Riders,Vintage Trailers & Motorcycles will be on display with pre- juried qualifications for admittance by car aficionados Juan & Sons. Sponsors such as Budweiser & So Cal Speed Shop know enthusiastic owners, builders, car clubs, friends and families travel from all over to Ventura for the weekend to show cars, enjoy the festivities and Meet and Greet Car and Music Icons! This year adored music idol, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy recipient Marky Ramone of The Ramones will Meet and Greet, Sign Autographs, Judge Cars and give out Awards. Marky has always been a big car and hot rod enthusiast. He will also specifically judge the Best Girl Owned Car since Ventura Nationals is proud to recognize a number of not so traditional female registrar and their unique Customs and Classics. Marky Ramone will also judge the annual Pin Up contest with two other revered judges. Joining him will be infamous T.V., film and celebrity auto customizer and builder Mr. George Barris. Mr. Barris created the Batmobile, the Munster Koach, and Knight Riders' KITT to name a few. Rounding out the mighty threesome on the Pin Up judging panel will be Mr. Tom Ingram, founder and owner of the world renowned Viva Las Vegas Weekender now in it's 16th year. Other special guests this year will Include American Grafitti leading actress Candy Clark, world famous Low Brow Artist & publisher of Juxtapose Magazine Robert Williams, Kustom Car legend 92 year old Bill Hines and More!
 
All day live musical entertainment beginning at 10am includes favorite artists of Rockabilly, Rock n' Roll, Roots, Surf & Blues. Imported for the event from Denton,Texas The High School Caesar with special guest "Mr.Telecaster" Albert Lee,  legendary Rock n' Roller Ray Campi and cumbiabilly by The Moonlight Trio will rock the big stage on Saturday Sept. 1. Sunday, Sept. 2  live entertainment will again shake, rattle and roll with high octane Rockabilly from The Sugar Daddys, the roots scene's hottest news The  Americans and acoustic cutting edge surf sounds of The Muertones. Blessing of the Cars & Bikes by the Monsignor of the Mission San Buenaventura is an added feature for the 10th Anniversary. In addition, complementing the activities on the fairgrounds are 100 plus unique genre specific vendors and artists. Lining the pavilion inside and out and creating an awesome shopping experience of vintage clothing, art, jewelry and specific Car Kulture goodies for visiting guys and dolls whose specific stylistic taste are not to be found at pedestrian malls. As usual Gear Heads will enjoy the Automotive & Motorcycle Swap Meet taking place both days on the back lot.

7:00-10pm Preferred parking for hot rods & motorcycles. Cost is two cans of food to be donated to Ventura Foodshare.
 
Saturday Night, Sept. 1 The Official Ventura Nationals HoeDown Presented by The Reverend Martini.
Drawing attendees and special guests from around the world, the HoeDown continues the days festivities into a rocking evening.
It is a coveted ticket and sells out each year at the historic, vintage Ventura Bowling Center -1888 E.Thompson Dr. Ventura 8:00pm
Features Performances by Cold Blue Rebels in full zombie regalia, High School Caesar and The Muertones

Sunday Post Show Reliability Run that ends at Noble Fabrications Open House. This event is open to registered car show participants only but will be a Ventura street spectacle at the end of sundays show beginning at 3pm.
