Surfin' Guitars Instrumental Surf Bands of the 60's 3rd edition

My name is Robert J. Dalley, I am the author of 'Surfin' Guitars' Instrumental Surf Bands of the Sixties.  The first edition was in 1988 self-publish.  2nd edition was published by Popular Culture Ink in Hardback.   I am currently working on the 3rd edition which will include more bands, updates/corrections and color.  I am reaching out to all the bands who appeared in the first two edition to contact me so I can catch up on any additional information, discographies and of course color photos, handbills, fliers, record labels, business cards etc.   Some of the new bands I am looking at are the Trademarks, New Dimensions, Surf Teens, Rhythm Kings, Teenbeats, Velvetones, Manuel & the Renegades, Fender IV, Dave & the Customs and more.  I have seen some of the threads here about my book and appreciate the comments.   I think now is a good time to get it out again as there are a lot of people who would like to have it without paying through the nose to get it.  Any help appreciate, suggestions appreciated etc.     Please give me a jingle.

It's great to have you here Bob, and really great news that you are working on a new edition of your excellent book. Feel free to start a forum thread about this, you'll probably get more comments and feedback that way.

Hey Bob,

welcome to SG101.

did you get my e-mails with the Phone numbers and e-mail addresses for those people you asked for?

also like Brian says, start a thread in the Forums area about this. way more people read, and reply there, than the front page news items.

Can't wait to finally get a copy of yer book, glad I waited.

Good news! I look for forward to finally getting a copy of this important book. Speaking of the New Dimensions, Michael Lloyd posted here a couple of times, so at least he seems receptive to talking about those days. Good luck!

I'm looking forward to a new edition, too, though I think the second edition was worth the trouble of ordering it (effectively) from the UK. There is nothing else comparable to this book and there never will be.

Except, of course, a new and improved third edition.

Bob Dalley is alive and well? Hot dang that IS good news....................!!!!!!!

Missed ya around these surf parts, Bob.

Based in part on your influence, our group, The Surge! was lucky enough last year to perform three times in Southern California during the Surf Guitar 101 Convention activities with our all time performance high point being the outside show we played at the Huntington Beach Pier! We are forever grateful.

Looking forward to the new book. I still spend hours lurking through my autographed copy of the second one.

Best Reverbs!

Eddie Katcher,

Hey I have a copy of the first edition and it's a great book.

Sounds like I'll need a copy of the 3rd edition when it's ready.

How do I get one? I'm new to this group.
