New site offers drum loops just for Surf!

Home recording and surf music enthusiasts ... here's a cool new retro-website made just for you:

Steve's Springy Surf Drums

www.stevesspringysurfdrums.com

There are four different packs for $4.99-$9.99 that offer reverb/non-reverb loops in Apple/AIFF formats, so that both Mac and PC users can create some fun surf songs at home.  If you don't have access to a real drummer or quality surf drum loops, then these are perfect for you.  Or even if you're a drummer, in a band with a drummer, or have access to a studio and drummer ... these loops are still great to have on hand to build everything from demo songs or complete albums.

Spring on over!

SurferJoe Music + Sound of the Surf + Updates

The Sound of the Surf crew will be present in Italy at the SURFERJOE SUMMER FESTIVAL. The event will be filmed and part of it will go on the movie/documentary with exclusive interviews and more.

The "godfather" of the Sound of the Surf project, John Blair, will also come to release interview and provide more details. Maybe he'll jump onstage too!!!

Promotion of the festival is proceeding pretty well, we hope in a good crowd. Thanks to all of you who decide to spend some holidays in Italy and come to meet us. More exhibitors have been added also, including importers for DiPinto, Mosrite, Danelectro, Eastwood and old Italian brands like Davoli. The backline will be completely provided by M. Casale Bauer and Fender Italy.

Remember: August 16th and 17th, CALAFURIA, Livorno, Italy

You are very welcome!

A surf bands chance at getting signed to a record label

The Retroactive Gamma Rays have been selected as one of the final bands to make it onto The Union Records artist catalogue. A few months ago they submitted their sonicbids (holy crap it works!) EPK to The Union Records and they were selected to take part in The Union Records Roster Challenge. The Challenge works by votes. A fan can vote from their computer once a day from July 17th to July 24th.

The Retroactive Gamma Rays are asking their surf community to take a minute out of their day to vote for a fellow surf band/surf music fan. It's not often a surf band has a chance to be signed to a record label. Please show your support for Retroactive Gamma Rays and surf music in general, as they go up against alternative bands w/ lyrics (gasp!).

Thank you for your support and don't forget to take a minute every day for the next week and vote for Retroactive Gamma Rays! Remember, if you have more than one computer you can vote from all of them. Also, tell your friends! Please click the link below to vote.

Vote!
