I'm about to depart for the airport to fly to Pisa, Italy, and to say I'm excited would be an understatement!! I'll be there for all three nights of the Surfer Joe festival, seeing so many fantastic bands (including two of my favorites, Los Twang! Marvels and the Kilaueas!). I can't wait! We headline the final night of the festival, and play five more shows around northern Italy after that. I'm really looking forward to meeting all the fellow SG101-ers from Europe that will be there - make sure to say hi if you see me around! And if I don't see you in Livorno, hope to see you at one of our other shows.

Hope y'all have a blast over there! Have a safe trip, while you're at it. I just hope they're ready for the sonic "trouncing" they're gonna get, but I'm sure they'll enjoy every moment of it...I know I have.

Thanks, everyone, you are all too nice!
I arrived in Livorno a bit ago, greeted at the Pisa airport by Lorenzo's wife Niki (who is also the bass player in the Wadadli Riders). She told me something I did not know: last year's Surfer Joe fest had 600-700 people in attendance each of the two nights.  They're hoping to have even more this year. Wow... This is gonna be FUN!!
OK, I'm off to get some lunch and look around the beautiful Mediterrenean port city of Livorno. I'm so stoked!!!

My wife and I are rolling in to Livorno tomorrow (we are in Lucca right now), and will be there for all 3 days as well. Looking forward to playing a set with the W Riders.
