Well, I decided to go to the DD/PDM show last night. Interesting thing about the crowd at the Brookdale was that the crowd had very little surf accumen. I mentioned Slacktone, Surf Coasters and the Phil Dirt concert and very few in the crowd knew what I was talking about. Sam Bolle sat in with PDM for a hair raising "Bells of St. Kahuna.
Guess I'll go see the Kilaueas today...

Well, I decided to go to the DD/PDM show last night.

What made you decide on that show? Wink

THe Fresno Show rocked! Not many people showed up, it did not make the paper (which never happens) Who knows why they skipped our show. But the Kilueas were GREAT! Nice guys, it only took two songs and they won the heart of everybody there. I felt terrible that it was so empty. The music director for a the local college radio station was there... he shook his head at the lack of audience, he's not a "practicing"surf fan but LOVED the boys from Germany. Rarely am I compelled to run up to the first row to really see what is going on, but there I was deep in the wonderful compositions, digging tunes that mixed surf and German "ooompah" that even bordered on reggae. Thanks to Sean for giving us the chance to see these guys.

I wish ya'll with in earshot would make the trek here sometime. Well at least mix it with a trip to Yosemite!

Give the Kilueas a great send off folk!

Some of the women in the church fair had almost just as less to wear as the logo, and the kids who were dancing, it looks like it would have taken alot more to even get them amused. I saw the Surf Kings t shirt - that is wild, specially if you look very close.

Tony,

I was just kidding you. Those Surf Kings shirts were KOOL... Great art work. In the interest of family harmony I had to pass. http://www.thesurfkings.com/Merchandise.htm
Shirt is third pic down.

Tom, I swear I'll be over one of these days. These
Friday night shows in Fresno are tough. You gotta
leave earlier and earlier to beat the rush out of town
on Fridays. I have a brother in Fresno. He's a jazz-
head, but I'll drag his ass to see you, even if he's
kicking and screaming. Do you have a mailing list?
