Permalink New Messer Chups

New Topic

They've posted a couple new songs off their upcoming release, Heretic Channel.
They're really good, I'm digging "Tremolo From the Crypt" the most, but they're both good.
There was a third up, but I think they took it down, but the other new track is called "Crash", the one that's now down was "Occult Apothecary 24hours."

All in all, with these new tracks I think this is going to be my favorite release of all theirs cause these songs are less garage/experimental and more surf oriented.

Anyways, just thought I'd let you guys know in case you hadn't heard these new tracks yet.

Edit: didn't realize I hadn't said where they posted the songs.

Zombie Shopping was, for me, a huge disappointment. There are tons of bands that do trad surf better than them but for their old thing, whatever it was, the Messer Chups were the only band that made something that sounded like that.

Storm Surge of Reverb: Surf & Instro Radio

Wish I woulda seen bass players like theirs when I went to Russia!!!!

Isn't Annette from Hamburg ?

Anyhoo, love her posters, photos...

Edit: sorry, got it wrong the first time and posted Kiel.

their Heretic Channel album is soon available on vinyl!! Comes in cardboard gatefold sleeve. Looks great Twisted Evil

My favourite songs are: New Adventures of Gitaracula and Zombirella (with cool vocals, wonderful Surf drums and fantastic guitar) + Loch Ness Surfing

Their best album so far.....

vinyl album available here: Copasetic Mailorder

The cd of Heretic Channel that Sean (Double Crown Records) is selling, is a completely reworked version to the original.

The question is why? the first version is very good anyway.

in what way is it reworked?

in what way is it reworked?

Most notably a more intense 6G15 reverb sound. Now i've gotten used to version 2 it's hard to for me to specify, initially i thought it had been taken apart, reassembled and remixed.
It's basically the same album, both versions are very good although version 1 sounds more natural to my ears/ softer mix.

the 1st version wasn't ready mixed and was not authorized by the band. it was released 'out of a mistake'. re-worked version is like the band wanted the sound.
