Just discovered this fantastic Australian band from the '70s (though I think they're still together). For fans of the Stooges/MC5/New York Dolls.

Birdmen Rock! You should also check out New Race, a band that featured members of the Stooges, MC5 and Radio Birdmen. They have an album called First and Last. Other good bands that have members of Radio Birdmen are the New Christs, the Visitors and the Hitmen.

I read about New Race. Will definitely check out them and the others.

The calm of a holiday Friday (everybody is already leaving so I have no work to do) demands some chill music. So I'm listening to Clutchy Hopkins.

Check him out if you like down tempo instro funky stuff.

No, Jonpaul, Thumbs Up to YOU! Very Happy That's some sublime music there! My wife and I are having some of my students over for dinner and merriment tonight, and the three Tikiyaki Orchestra CDs will be the soundtrack for the evening. Smile

Yes, This is some great stuff. Fady was kind enough to let me borrow one of his Tikiyaki Orchestra CD's and it is infectious!

I used to be a big Radio Birdman fan in the 80's, had all their records and even got to see the New Christs live here in Stockholm during that time. On an interesting surf music related note, Radio Birdman covered the Trashmen's "King Of The Surf" already in the 70's and lead guitarist Deniz Tek recorded Gary Usher's "RPM" for a solo single in the early 80's.

Right now I'm listening to "The Russian Beatles" singing about what sounds like that the Beatles and Rolling Stones has to be stopped, haha.
