Welcome aboard, Jaguar! Glad to have you here. There are
some very cool surf bands in Italy. I particularly like the
Wet-tones, the Bradipos IV, and I Cosmanauti. Have you
played with, or seen any of those bands? Maybe you could
tell us about the Surf scene in Italy????

Cheers

Thanks for your replies!

A real good luck to Kyle, I hope to hear other good things from him.

Surf music in Italy is alive, there are some great bands, I think Hangee V, a mix of obscure surf instrumental and garage too.

I'm living in Catania, west Sicily.

Cool

I've been to Catania. I bought my mandolin while visiting Sicily 2 years ago from a local luthier by the name of Alfredo Privitera on via Carini.

My parents were born in Calabria -St. Andrea to be exact. We still have alot of family there and my parents often spend summers back in their hometown. My wife and I went 2 years ago to visit for a few weeks. We spent about a week in Sicily. Palermo, Catania & Taormina. Anyhow, I always try to buy a stringed instrument on our trips. We were in Cantanzaro at a music store and this mandolin caught my eye. My Dad read the label inside and noticed it was made in Catania. Since we were going there, my dad suggested meeting the luthier and buying one from him. And that's what we did. That day was quite an adventure.
