Permalink Pedalboard order

Hiya,

I’m looking to run something very simple:

Guitar
Tuner
Valco Five-O
Fender 6G15

Into amp.

Pretty sure this is the correct sequence. Now, if I want to add a Boost pedal, where should that go? It’s mainly to boost the 6G15.

I want to hear Caravan with a drum solo.

Treble boost - before Tuner. Clean boost - after Hawaii.

Tqi speaks the common wisdom, but with a pedalboard of that size, it'd be super easy to experiment, especially with the placement of the clean boost. You may find that the way most people do things isn't the way you like the best, but that's always a good place to start.

To be clear, the positioning of a treble boost is basically non-negotiable, at least - if it's a standard rangemaster-derived design. They're pickup-loading, and don't work with active guitars, after transmitters, or anything else other than a coil, some passives and a cable.

Definitely try it out if that's what you had planned, but you'd see pretty quickly it's a no-go.

Clean boost is entirely flexible, and you can put it where you like - so if that was the plan, I agree with Chiba's recommendation of "Play". Smile
