Permalink SOLD Valco Five-O - surf in a box!

SOLD!

Bought this to get me by until I figured out which individual pedals I wanted. I've now gotten those and no longer need this. Full description and photos on Reverb.

When they say "surf in a box," they mean it - and as I state in my Reverb ad, the real gem of this unit is the ability to change where in the signal chain the reverb goes.

It's up on Reverb for $300 shipped in the CONUS. Anybody here who wants it gets it for $285 shipped (CONUS) & PayPaled. If you're not in the CONUS, PM me and we'll figure it out.

I’ve got the Valco Five-O as well and use it on my pedal board at every show, but I’m curious and interested to hear what individual pedals you found and used to replace it. Thanks.

No problem Smile (PS Sent you a PM)

One of my amps (Tone King Falcon Grande) has an excellent reverb in it - it doesn't drip, but I don't use that amp for surfy stuff now that I've got a Supro Thunderbolt Mk II (which I got in this very FS/T area). I run a RI Fender tube reverb unit in front of that, so that takes care of the reverb.

I'm searching for the perfect fuzz pedal ... I may not ever finish the search! My top two contenders right now are the 1981 Inventions DRV and the JPTR FX Warlow. They sound completely different from each other, but each has its charms.

I discovered I like the BOSS TR-2 tremolo effect just fine, but I also discovered I use a phaser (BOSS PH-2) far more often than the tremolo. I'm a big BOSS fan, have been ever since I was a kid (in the '80s!) just learning how to play.
