What's everyone's favorite fuzzrites? I've been gassing these lately and acquired 4 different ones this past month got the MojoHand One Ton Bee, Basic Audio Fuzzrite, Big Foot fx Spaghetti western and now the Pierce Ennio Fuzz!! Looking into the Ananashead Metorite. Oddly enough though 3 I own sound kinda different yet in the same family.

I use the Ennio Fuzz and it sounds good through my Vox Viscount and if you want the buzz to happen I put it on top boost more treble and real spiky.......... If I take off top boost it's pretty close to being a fuzz face kinda but not muddy...........

I too dig my early Ashbass Fuzzbrite which sounds like this with a Kurokumo Mosrite into a Fender Deluxe...

Klas - that sounds awesome. You have a time machine with that sound.
I have a Wire Instruments Fuzz that can get the 2000 Lb Bee sound but I wouldn't strictly call it a FuzzRite clone, just an awesome fuzz.

This is about as close as you can get to the original, since it was designed by the guy who designed the Mosrite FUZZrite.

Another vote for the Ashbass Fuzzbrite.
I think it sounds virtually identical to my '68 original. They're pretty interchangeable.

Fuzzrite.... Don't really know if it sounds like a Mossrite, but this one is build in Denmark and is a great Mossrite clone! The RiteOn Fuzz. Here is my demo:

That Retro-Tone looks the business. Not a knock on you, @Jerome (unless you are Retro-Tone), unfortunately and sadly, it seems a copycat rip-off of a name/branding and likeness/imagery of something that was created more than 10 years ago and still going strong from Ty Pierce / Pierce Custom Instruments. (Also happens to be mentioned in this thread).

Also, for the FuzzRite and a host of other 60’s fuzz circuits, Matt Seppi/Blackstrap Electrik (formerly home in Charleston SC, then the Mountains of NC - which is when/how I found him, and most recently the Rocky’s/ Utah) does one-by-one, high skill, high quality artistry builds & replicas, including both the rare early Germanium version and the more common Silicon Fuzzrite.
I had him make me the latter back when choice parts and hammertone enclosures we’re ‘standard’ builds and pricing. Like everything lately, his prices have gone up, but I’d say that’s as much about a growing following as anything else, and IMHO, deservingly so.
Anyhow, my Blackstrap Electrik Co. Gilhaney is the bee’s knees and the cat’s pajamas. As are a few other builds I’ve had Matt do when I fell deep in the pit (of Fuzzy) despair a couple years ago.
You’ve been warned

I built my own Fuzzrites and the Germanium version I've made (with very low gain transistors) is superior to the Silicon version, in line with my preferences with other fuzz circuits. There's something about Germanium.
If I had to buy one I'd pick the Catalinbead Germanium Fuzzrite, which has the modern/vintage toggle that switches out the 22k resistor and adds bass and volume. It sounds great in the demos.

@Fady
Didn't know that, thanks for clarifying this point.
I'm not Retro Tone so no "worries".

Where did the Ennio Morricone and fuzz connection come from btw? His classic soundtracks feature a lot of clean guitars.

I think it’s similar with Beach Boys and surf music)

Btw, if I order Ennio fuzz shall I also order Morricone fuzz? I guess it should be a pair? Or Spaghetti Western Fuzz may go for both?)))

I have the Spaghetti Western currently on my board right now. It kicked off my one ton bee. It works really well with kinda a slight dirty amp to my ears as well. I'm getting the Ennio fuzz on Monday and I'll report back on the two.
