Hi,
I'm looking at getting a small low watt amp for bedroom playing. I want to know if the HT1 clean channel is any good for surf with a reverb pedal in front of it?
If not any other suggestions?
I want a tube amp not a modelling amp, as I like getting pedals to put in front of them.
I'm aware the HT1 has a built in midcut which could be a problem. I need something fairly versatile as I don't just play surf but classic rock and grunge as well.
Thanks

Is there a price factor here as well?
If not, then in your shoes, I'd probably buy something like the Marshall Origin 20H, since it's based on a more vintage bassman-like Marshall design, and can run at 3W or 0.5W with built-in power switching. Small 4x8 or 1x10 cab for home use, big 2x10 or 1x15 cab at a gig - only one amp needed.
Otherwise, I'm playing around a fair bit right now with the Fender Greta (mostly as a pre-amp, but I've tried it as the worlds-worst-tube-surf-amp as well) - which would probably work well as a bedroom surf amp with an actual cab instead of a 4" internal speaker. I just don't have one (a cab) to hand right now to try it.

I'm happy to save up a bit. I have a little boss katana air at the moment which is decent but I want a tube amp again. I'll look into the marshall. I would love a head as opposed to a combi so I can switch cabinets

There seem to be a few going for silly-cheap prices in the UK, so watch the used market on them!
