SUPER CLEAN. THE REAL DEAL. ALL ORIGINAL. $16500.00.

Thanks, I just decided to list my guitar. I’ve owned it for over 20 years and have played it on tons of gigs. Plus I have a special order Custom Sop Jazzmaster and it’s great! I rarely post on this site. It doesn’t matter when or many post I’ve made, I want to reach real surf guitarist who know what this is. I appreciate your post but yes you are out of line. I’ll keep it on because you had an honest question and seem like a straight up guy.

Hey Bruce! Cool guitar! While all these other dudes are complaining about your listing, how about you tell us about the old days. You know, like when you played drums for first wave band The Nocturnes. Or your time with Disney, and dealing with Dick Dale...... or any of the other cool stories I’ve heard from you. I’m sure you have a ton. How about one about Jim Frias? We all loved that guy!

Some of you should chill out and give Bruce McCoy a break. He’s the real deal first wave guy, who decided to come here and hang out with you. Shame shame.

Well I see my question and post has been removed - not sure why Brian. I have not been offensive and just said, as I say again, that I find it stupid to sell and original piece like this to keep a custom shop one.

So I have no need to chill out as I am not nervous or upset. Everybody can do what they want with their stuff. But I can comment. Or is it forbidden?

Shame on me for commenting?

How about we let the guy sell his guitar? Why does everyone have to question motives and decisions?

You think it's stupid, fine. Maybe keep it to yourself?

Reasonable questions and comments about the guitar are welcome. Not "why are you doing that?, that's dumb".

Guys you are seriously sucking what fun there is (and there hasn't been much for a long time) out of this site.

You know what? you are right.
Please remove my comment.

Good luck.

I'm sorry Lorenzo, I was cranky because I just got done removing like 10 or 12 really bad comments and yours got swept up in that.

No prob Brian, I was not aware of other comments. When I posted mine there was only another post before basically saying the same thing. Which - by the way - it's in respect of the guitar sold here. When I comment that I find it stupid to sell it, it means this guitar is a REAL guitar, a good one. So it's surely an appreciation of what is for sale here Smile

Its not often you see an early JM of this pedigree available for sale. It sure is tempting. I am selling my house this month and would have that kind of cash available to purchase this, but then I'd have to figure out how to pay for a divorce, so I'll pass Big Grin

Good luck with your sale!

Also, as Sonichris wrote, it would be cool if you would share some stories of the early days!

Bruce is a very nice & friendly guy.
He is also quite humble given his surf pedigree.
I talked to Bruce a couple times.

He let me hold this guitar for a few seconds while he was packing his gear right after a gig in Dana Point 2-3 years ago.
I'm not a guitar expert by any means, certainly not with vintage gear.
This guitar is quite heavy compared to a current JM.

This needs a bump. Wow, I've not been on in a while and it's nice to see that the real deal is in the surf family. Wish I had the money sitting around to buy this up. I second Sonichris and would LOVE to hear your stories, Bruce.
