Hey all,
I've discovered an ailment with my Gomez Surfer amp.
I fired it up this weekend to reamp a song and discovered that it's issuing a high pitched metallic ringing with the higher notes.
I tried it with two different cabinets, used two different guitars (plus the reamped lead), with and without 6g15 reverb in front, and using both channels of the amp, with and without tremolo.
The ringing occurs independently of any of these factors. I didn't see anything amiss with the tubes and none of them responded to being tapped with a stick.
Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this? Here is the reamped lead in a song as well as a compilation of samples.

Could it be a microphone tube? Also, check and make sure the transformers are mounted right to the chassis. Sometimes they loosen.

I'm going through this with a Gomez G-Reverb. I was hoping it was just microphonic tubes but swapping did not help. It is at an amp tech's shop now, he is stumped but not giving up quite yet. Hope yours is easier to diagnose!
