INTRODUCING THE "SURFYPAN"
Accutronics & Surfy Industries
As much as we love the tradition and sound of the classic Accutronics 4AB3C1B pan, we have to admit that the decay of this pan is currently longer than the decay of the original pans used by Fender in the early 60s. The same model pan produced in the 1960s had a shorter decay, which produced a splashier sound and reduced the reverb tail. We are always searching for "that" sound at Surfy Industries, and we realised we had to do something about this.
So, we spoke to Accutronics directly and proposed to them that they make for us an upgraded 4AB3C1B spring pan with increased quality materials for a fuller sound, a more reliable product, and a custom decay level to get a bit closer to the sound of the vintage pans. We think we have found a great balance with our new product, The SurfyPan! The SurfyPan will now come standard inside all of our "big" reverb units (SurfyBear Classic and Metal) and is now available for purchase separately in the US/Mexico/Canada.
Go to surfyindustries.com/Accessories to order separately.

I just ordered two of these to give them a try in my SurfyBear and also a Gomez amp. The Gomez has a "NOS" tank, but nonetheless both have a long, shrill trail that I've been trying to tame for some time. I will be curious to see if this improves things. It also gave me the nudge I needed to try the SurfyTrem pedal.

Just ordered 4! I have a Princeton and some Surfybears that'll benefit nicely from this upgrade.

It sure will.
Is that an iron-clad, double your money back if not satisfied guaranty? Just kidding, but I have been giving serious thought to replacing the pan in mine, so I might just bite.

It says Not Available in the US store. Does this mean not available YET? Or that they are all sold out?

I got one and I know several other people who got one, so they're probably sold out of the first batch.

I got my order today, super fast! I immediately hooked it up to the ‘63 6g15 and I must say, it sounds way better than the original pan! At least I think it is the original pan, it is a Gibbs with the code AA 2963 and also 6320 printed on it. Anyway this Surfy Bear knocks it on its ass. I will try this on an actual SB also at some point. But holy crap this is the greatest things to happen to surf music since the Surfy Bear! I’m so impressed, fat drips that decay quickly. Drips that completely change their character with each note, which is my biggest beef with digital reverb drips. Every drip sounds the same, but with this pan every note drips differently, and they are all awesome. Thank you Surfy Bear! I suspect once the word gets out, these pans will become extremely popular throughout many genres that use reverb. This is truly a moment in human surf history.

As opposed to Rock Badger surf history? Just kiddin' mate.
It looks like a winner.

I went to purchase one, and they are all sold out. Ted, we're having band practice tonight. If you have an extra pan, please stop by! I am only kidding, but I will be buying one as soon as they're available.

Anyone get this for their Surfy Bear Classic? I got one and installed it in my Surfy Bear classic and it certainly has a shorter tail allowing me to use more of the knob ranges for usable tones. I still struggle with “drip”. It clicks or clacks but the drip is not there like I’m used to. I’m using a 6G6B Bassman clone, with 2x12 cab (using Tone Tubby Purple Haze speakers) and nothing else. 60s jazzmaster, Jaguar, and strat and tried every combo of tones.
Anyone else getting wet Astronauts type of drip with theirs. What is the settings? What are you using? Help me obi wan kenobi...

I got it installed into my Classic and just love it! I couldn't dial mix and dwell more than 4-5 cause of long tails that just washed everything away. Now with 6-7 I’ve got punchy splashy drippy reverb) but I also use booster.
