I'm a fan of Adam Neely's music theory videos on YouTube. In this video, he challenges several young composers to come up with interesting music in the difficult Locrian mode. All are worth a listen, but Samuarai Guitarist creates a weird and wonderful surf melody I really like.
Check it out!

Cool challenge to witness. I tried the same thing once and it turned out kind neat.
For me, Nahre's piano piece is the standout in this field. The most musical and it doesn't sound at all like it's trying to be a locrian thing.

I actually liked all the pieces for different reasons. I've watched it several times now and am picking up more of the nuances.
Ben Levin's went from scary to weirdly "floaty". Paul David's composition contrasted the electronic with Annouka's beautiful voice. Nahre Sol's piece was lovely. Adam Neely called his "lo-fi hip hop", but heard jazz!
